Organic products, free of chemical additives, guarantee us a double benefit: they protect our health and, at the same time, respect the environment. Here is the guide not to be wrong
For some time now, we have known that something in the natural balance is breaking up and that we must run for cover as long as we are on time. We can do this by preferring and purchasing organic food , produced without polluting or contaminating nature with chemical or synthetic additives, without intensively exploiting the livestock, in full compliance with the rhythm of the seasons and the rotation of the land, and subjecting the final products to the control of specific certification bodies. In this regard, there is also talk of “traceability” of organic food, alluding with this term to the ability to reconstruct and follow the production and use of an agro food product through documented identifications and certified by a special control body.
Do we know exactly what is meant by organic food and what are the differences with other products defined simply “natural” or generically “whole”? Let’s clarify the words but also the brands and the bodies authorized to certify truly “organic” products.
Eco-friendly agriculture expresses the generic trend towards environmental compatibility and, in the production process, integrates a minimum use of chemical products with the controlled use of insects that feed on plant pests, effectively functioning as natural pesticides.
For the time being, the term “eco-compatible” has no recognition from the point of view of the Community legislation, but some Italian regions and provinces have already established collective brands with which the products derived from this type of agriculture qualify.
Before shopping, always read the label and check that …
In the organic cart, there is now room for everyone: producers of fruit and vegetables, meat, fish and dairy products, wine, honey, sugar, pasta, rice, cocoa, coffee, tea, sweets and baked goods, eggs, oils and condiments, but also snacks, snacks and drinks. Of course, organic foods can cost a little more but they offer a series of priceless advantages. They have a more natural flavor, therefore they are also more satisfying for the palate; they are more controlled from the point of view of cultivation and breeding and do not contain substances of chemical origin; to produce them, the waste of raw materials is reduced, biodiversity is respected and the environmental impact is reduced. On the other hand, it must also be said that organic foods fresh (just because they are natural and free of additives) they keep less long: in reality, what seems like a defect is a guarantee of quality!
It is clear that organic food will have decidedly positive effects on health since it is lacking rich in toxins and rich in healing and protective substances that the body absorbs quickly.
